Neurosecretory Cells In Certain Earthworms Species (Oligochaete)
Abstract
Typical Neurosecretory cells of the cerebral ganglion were studied in three oligochaete families: A. porrectodea caliginosa, Dendrodrilus rubidus: (Lumbricidae)';
Amynchas corticis : (Megascolidae); Dichogaster bolaui: (Octochaetidae). In the first species five types of neurosecretory cells (Ai - Ac) were studied in details by light and electron microscope. Each type has differentiated shape, size and location within the cerebral ganglion. Ultrastructurally, each type has highly distinctive elementary granules. Compartive survey was made for the other species using light microscopy only.
