    Abstract
Globally, the field of Occupational Therapy (OT) is steadily expanding. The distinctive cultural and linguistic environment, coupled with the absence of a dedicated professional occupational therapy association and educational institution, poses specific challenges for OTs in Qatar. This study aims to identify the factors that influence the professional identity of OTs in Qatar. Utilizing a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research examined the experiences of 13 OTs practicing within Qatar's healthcare system. This study employed the Kelchtermans framework for the interview guide and Colazzi’s (1978) method for analysis to offer a structured understanding of the data. The findings shed light on the diverse motivations prompting individuals to pursue occupational therapy, the perception of occupational therapists' professional identity, and the factors affecting the occupational therapist's identity in Qatar. The study emphasizes the necessity of establishing a Qatari occupational therapy association and college to bolster the profession and elevate its prominence and comprehension within Qatar.
