The inhibitive action of sodium castor sulphonate Towards the corrosion of aluminium in Hydrochloric acid

Abstract

The dissolution of aluminium in 2M HC1 solution in presence of sodium castor sulphonate (SCS) has been studied using thermometric and hydrogen evolution methods. The results showed that the additive retards the dissolution due to its chemisorption on the metal surface via 71 the electrons of the double bond. The inhibition obyes the Frumkin's isotherm.

تمت دراسة نوبان فلز الاءلومنيوم في محلول 2 مولاسي من حمض الهيدروكلوريك في وجود سلفونات الخروع الصوديومية باستخدام الطريقة الحرارية وطريقة تصاعد غاز ا لهيدلوجين . وقد أثبتت النتائج أن المادة المضافة تثبط عملية الثربان نتيجة لادمصاصها على سطح الفلز من خكل ألكت!رونات الباي في الروابط الروجية . وقد وجد أن LJyl مى يتبع ايروثرم فرومكين .
