The Qatar University institutional repository aims to increase visibility of the original research and scholarly works of the QU community on a local and global level, capture the academic activities of QU, facilitate institutional academic achievement, and provide a permanent portal of access to resources for the QU community. The QU institutional repository is an online digital collection of scholarly output and academic activities. It includes faculty publications, research materials, learning materials, images, audio and video outputs, book chapters, reports and associated data, theses and dissertations, and conference proceedings.

The institutional repository is built on the DSpace platform and hosted in-house through the ITS department. The Library is responsible for quality control of content submitted and disseminated and is the governing entity for policies and procedures pertaining to QSpace.

The top service priorities of QSpace are to collect materials originating from faculty, students, and guests of Qatar University, provide necessary metadata to fulfill a complete bibliographic record, provide open access full-text content to everyone, and preserve content in a secure format for long-term continued access.
