Abstract:

There are many factors affect the stability of a family. The objective of the current study is to measure the differences between consanguineous and non consanguineous marriage in term of family stability. The study depends on 1149 housewives to answer the items of the questionnaire because they are the element that is much more acquainted about the details of the family situation. A family stability scale has been used which included 81 expressions on 6 main items making up a comprehensive scale as follows: Social Situation, Economic Situation, Psychological Situation, Health Situation, Living/Lodging Situation, and Educational Situation. Demographic variables have been obtained from a questionnaire. Concerning the use of statistic procedures, descriptive statistics have been used. T-test, ANOVA, and scheffe test were used in order to determine differentiations between variables and to realize the objective of the study, which was based on comparison. Also, chi -square, person correlation, and multiple regressions were used to test the other hypothesis of the study. SPSS package was used to analysis data. Results show that the consanguineous marriage pattern was the most adopted family situation in Kuwait society compared with the non consanguineous' pattern |
