Abstract

This Study aims at studying anger as a state and trait among a large sample of Yarmouk University students, and identifying the variables that have a relationship with anger as state and trait. The measures were administered to a sample which consisted of 1016 students (males and females) from Yarmouk University. The findings show a statistically significant correlation between anger as a state and anger as a trait and yielded a positive value of (0.69). They also showed that the anger among the student in the university was an anger of trait. The nature of anger showed that the variables of smoking, health status and averages accounted for most of the variance explained in the state and trait of anger. They all explained (3.6%) of the variance in the state of anger, (1.6%) in smoking, (1.2%) in health state, (0.70%) in averages. They all explained (3.8%) of the variance in the trait of anger, (1.7%) in smoking, (1.2%) in health state and (0.90%) in averages. On the basis of the findings and results of the study. Some important points such as holding lectures, seminars, and meetings concerning the ways of dealing with the problem of anger were recommended.
