Subsurface geothermal investigation in the nile delta, egypt.

Abstract

The Nile Delta area is geothermally studied to define the behaviour of geothermal gradient in different wells and to determine the distribution of heat in some interesting rock formations. The geothermal investigation of the hydrocarbon bearing Abu Madi and Qawasim Formations revealed new data regarding the subsurface structures and throw some light on the generation and acumulation of the hydrocarbons in the area.
