الملخصThis chapter introduces aspects of medication safety in the State of Qatar. It starts by presenting an overview of the geography and demographics of the population. There is then a description of key strategic national documents which guide national developments generally and health care specifically. The structure of health care within Qatar is outlined, highlighting the different sources of medication in all settings. Reference is then made to specific health care policies as they apply to medication safety (e.g., prescribing, error reporting), with details of key peer-reviewed research studies. The chapter ends with consideration of health care-related education, training, and continuous professional development as major contributions to promoting medication safety.
