Abstract | Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune neurodegenerative disorder, characterized by chronic inflammation of the central nervous system. This paper focuses on the epidemiology, pathophysiology, etiology, and the risk factors of MS. It also focuses on addressing the different pharmacological and nonpharmacological approaches for the management of MS. The concept of pharmaceutical care interventions and the role of pharmacists toward improving patients' adherence to drug therapy and treatment outcomes are also discussed in this paper. - 2019 Elsevier Inc. |
