AbstractCopper is one of the most valuable and prevalent metals used in the industry. There are many techniques to treat different types of industrial wastewater that are contaminated with heavy metals such as copper. This article focuses on reviewing the most advanced wastewater treatment techniques, including adsorption, membrane filtration, cementation and electrodialysis. The review examines the differences among the treatment methods in terms of duration and overall efficiencies. The review outlines the current research in the area in terms of weaknesses and strengths, leading to future research prospective and pointing out gabs that need to be addressed in future research. 2017 The Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry
