    Abstract
The major issue with the three-level active neutral point clamped (ANPC) topology has been the necessary use of higher DC-link voltage with lower peak across the load. In this paper, a new 1.5 voltage gain 7L-ANPC topology is proposed with a lower number of switches. The proposed topology generates 7L output voltage with one input source, four capacitors and nine switches. The two floating capacitors have a voltage rating of 0.5Vdc which reduces the overall cost of the topology. The power loss analysis and comparative study are included in the paper to show the improved aspects of the proposal. The performance of the proposed 7L-ANPC inverter topology is demonstrated using several results obtained through simulation platform, and these results are verified using the experimental results obtained using a low power rating experimental setup.
