AbstractIn this paper, a new member of high gain Modified Boost Converter (MBC) with Switched Reactive Network (SRN) is presented for Electric Vehicle (EV) application. The proposed converter is a non-isolated converter and providing non-inverted output with the common ground between input and output. The proposed converter having modular structure and voltage gain can be increased by extending the structure of SRN. However, the key features of the proposed converter are (i) single switch topology which required simple control scheme and circuit, (ii) low-voltage stress on the switch as compared to the output voltage, (iii) continuous input current, (iv) non-inverted output and common ground between input and output. Hence, the proposed converter can be a suitable option for EV charging station integrated with PV applications. The working modes of the proposed converter with characteristics waveform is presented. Additionally, the mathematical formulations are presented to calculate voltage gain and the critical value of circuit components. The proposed converter is compared with existing non-isolated and non-inverted output converters. The functionality and performance of the proposed converter are validated by numerical simulation results. In addition, the experimental results of the hardware prototype model show a good agreement with the numerical simulation and theoretical analysis. The functionalities and performance of the proposed converters with theoretical analysis are provided in the manuscript.
