Abstract | This article is focused on the atmospheric turbulence attenuation and their effect on the hybrid free space optical and radio frequency (FSO/RF) under Qatar harsh and dry climate. Analysis has been done by calculating the strength of scintillation called refractive index by using Andrew method. For the FSO/RF system we used the Soft-Switching approach. In this approach, the two links can be simultaneously used for data transmission. Based on this approach, and a finite state Markov Chain (FSMC) process, we model the channel fading for the two links and derive a mathematical expression for the outage probability of the system. Then, we evaluate the behavior of the hybrid FSO/RF under hazy and harsh weather. |
