    Abstract
    The emerging field of flexible bio-mechatronic technologies, such as wearable sensors, actuators and robots, are playing more and more crucial roles in the design and development of next generation healthcare and rehabilitation systems that safely and smartly interact with human patients. To create a complex and intelligent healthcare and rehabilitation system, it is necessary to design, develop and implement advanced wearable sensors, Internet of Things (IoT) and intelligent algorithms. The papers of this special issue discuss various research and development achievements in the field of IoT systems for intelligent healthcare and rehabilitation, including developments, methodologies, and applications to biological sensors, IoT infrastructures, soft robotics, biomechanical modeling, novel algorithms, big data analysis, as well as devices and tools for health monitoring, etc. This special issue provides readers with a comprehensive collection of the state-of-the-art advances in the field of intelligent healthcare and rehabilitation. 2021
