Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is found to be at least 6-10% prevalent all over the world. It is the most common endocrine pathology among females of reproductive age. It is by definition a syndrome having multiple manifestations classically presented by enlarged ovaries with multiple cysts and hypervascularized, androgen secreting stroma. This leads to androgen excess (hirsutism, acne, alopecia), obesity and menstrual irregularity (oligomenorrhoea or amenorrhea). Furthermore women with PCOS have an increased risk of developing several complications like Type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, obesity, DM and hyperlipideamia 1.
