Particle filtering for state and parameter estimation in gas turbine engine fault diagnostics
Abstract
In this paper, a novel method for a time-varying parameter estimation technique using particle filters is proposed based on the concept of Recursive Prediction Error (RPE). According to the proposed method, a parallel structure for both state and parameter estimation in a nonlinear non-Gaussian system is developed. The performance of the developed framework is evaluated in an application to the gas turbine engine state and health parameters estimation by using different scenarios. The developed method is identified to be applicable for fault diagnosis of an engine system while it is subjected to concurrent and simultaneous loss of effectiveness faults in the system components. 2013 AACC American Automatic Control Council.

A support vector machine-based method for LPV-ARX identification with noisy scheduling parameters
Abbasi, F.; Mohammadpour, J.; Toth, R.; Meskin, Nader ( Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. , 2014 , Conference)In this paper, we present a method that utilizes support vector machines (SVM) to identify linear parameter-varying (LPV) auto-regressive exogenous input (ARX) models corrupted by not only noise, but also uncertainties in ... -
Linear parameter-varying control of a copolymerization reactor
Abbas, H.S.; Rahme, S.; Meskin, Nader; Hoffmann, C.; Tcth, R.; Mohammadpour, J.... more authors ... less authors ( Elsevier B.V. , 2015 , Conference)This paper demonstrates the application of the linear parameter-varying (LPV) framework to control a copolymerization reactor. An LPV model representation is first developed for a nonlinear model of the process. The LPV ...
