Abstract: The aim of this study is to explore the perceptions of the academic staff at the University of Qatar towards the application of the Internet in the educational process and scientific research. In addition, the researcher tried to explore the effect of some independent variables on their perceptions towards the application of the Internet in the educational process and scientific research. The researcher prepared an instrument, consisting of 36 items. Random samples were chosen from the total population of the academic staff at University of Qatar (378 individuals), the researcher used different analysis methods (Frequencies, Mean, Chi-Square, One Way ANOVA and Scheffe test) to analyze the data for the results. The study results revealed that there were positive perceptions among all the academic staff at University of Qatar towards the application of the Internet in the educational process and scientific research. However, academic staff had shown more positive perceptions towards the application of the Internet in the scientific research than the educational process. There were no significant differences between the perceptions of the academic staff at University of Qatar towards the importance of the services available on the Internet in the educational process and scientific research according to the following independent variables: academic status, sex, country of graduation, and college. There were low levels of application among the academic staff for the Internet services in the educational process and scientific research. However, academic staff was in favor of using the Internet in scientific research more than educational process. There were no significant differences between the academic staff in the degree of application of the Internet in the educational process and scientific research according to two independent variables including academic status and sex. There were significant differences between the academic staff in the degree of application of the Internet in the educational process and scientific research according to two independent variables namely: country of graduation and college.هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على مجالات الإفادة من الإتترنت ي العملية التعليمية والبحث العلمي .
