الملخصAbstract: Despite the negative effects of its emissions on the environment, diesel generators have been widely used in Oman's rural areas for years. Oman's vision for 2040 includes the promotion of renewable energy sources to reduce the environmental impact of fossil fuels. This article explores the potential of three hybridized energy systems for implementation in the health Clinic in the Salalah community to meet the electrical energy needs of the clinic. Cost of Energy (COE) and net present cost (NPC) of 702,828 $ and 1.01 $/kWh, respectively, for the Photovoltaic/Battery energy system were found to be lower than they were for the Photovoltaic/Generator set/Battery and standalone generator set energy systems. It is proposed that the Salalah Health Clinic adopt a hybrid energy system that makes the most efficient use of a variety of renewable energy sources to meet its technological, economic, and electrical energy requirements. According to the results of the Homer-Pro, the Photovoltaic/Battery system is preferable to the other energy systems from both a financial and environmental standpoint as calculated by the return-on-investment analyses to meet the electrical needs of the health clinic. Graphical abstract: (Figure presented.) Highlights: Photovoltaic/Battery energy system was proposed for Salalah Health Clinic, Oman. Utilizing renewable applications for the health clinic supports Oman's Vision 2040 Hybridization of renewable energy systems enhanced sufficient energy production. Economic parameters can be used to determine the best option for energy application. Discussion: There exists a contention that natural gas, as an energy source, possesses negative environmental attributes, hence impeding the transition to renewable energy rather than facilitating it, hence requires focused policies. There has been a contention posited by individuals asserting that all coal resources are characterized by their unclean nature, resulting in detrimental effects on both local communities and the environment at large and advocate for the replacement of coal with renewable energy sources.
