    Abstract
Emergent Materials has focused on applying new materials science and technologies, particularly in fast-growing areas. One such field is the biological applications of materials, i.e. Biomaterials. With this objective in mind, Emergent Materials has previously published successful Biomaterials Special Issues, which contributed to making Biomaterials an important theme for the journal. We now have organized a more focused special issue to encompass the most popular research themes in biomaterials as “Emerging material science trends in Nanomedicine, Biosensor, Microfluidics, and 3D Bioprinting technologies”.
