| Abstract | هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة مدى احتواء كتاب العلوم للصف الثامن في الأردن لمكونات لثقافة العلمية الأربعة: الطبيعية المعرفية للعلم، و الطبيعية البحثية للعلم، و الطبيعية التفكيرية للعلم، و التفاعل بين العلم و التكنولوجيا و المجتمع، ومعرفة درجة اكتساب طلبة منطقة القصر لها. و لتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم تطوير نموذج لتحليل احتواء كتاب العلوم، ومن ثم إعداد اختبار للثقافة العلمية، وتم التأكد من صدق و ثبات الأداتين. وقد تم تطبيق الاختبار في نهاية الفصل الدراسي الثاني 2004/2005، على عينة الدراسة المكونة من (705) طالب و طالبة من مدارس مديرية منطقة القصر. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن مكونات الثقافة العلمية توزعت في كتاب العلوم للصف الثامن الأساسي بحيث كانت النسبة الأكبر لمكون الطبيعة المعرفية للعلم، يليه المكونات الأخرى. كما أظهرت بأن مستوى الثقافة العلمية لدى الطلبة متدن. و أوصت الدراسة بضرورة اهتمام التربويين بتوزيع مكونات الثقافة في كتب العلوم، كما أوصت بإجراء مزيد من الدراسات لمعرفة مدى اكتساب الطلبة لمكونات الثقافة العلمية في المراحل الدراسية الأخرى، ولمعرفة سبب التدني في مستوى الثقافة العلمية لدى طلبة الصف الثامن |

| Alternative Abstract | This study aimed at determining the degree of coverage of the four components of scientific literacy: the knowledge nature of science, the investigative nature of science, the thinking nature of science, and the interaction between science, technology, and society in the Science Textbook of Eighth-Grade in Jordan. It also aimed at determining the extent to which student in Al-Qaser Region have obtained them. To achieve these aims a model for content analysis of the Science Textbook was developed and a scientific literacy test was constructed. The Model and the test validity and reliability have been assured. The test was administered on a sample consisting of (705) students from Al-Qaser schools at the end of the second semester of the scholastic year 2004/2005. The results of the study showed that scientific literacy component was covered by the Science Textbook of Eighth-Grade, and the large percentage was in the case of knowledge nature of science followed by another component. The results also showed that the level of scientific literacy of the Eighth-Grade students was low. |
