Abstract | Policy and legislation in Arab countries: Arab countries is a term that refers to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region's collective identity, reflecting cohesive socio-cultural and Islamic perspectives and lifestyles. While there is no official definition of the MENA region, it does include the Arab League's 21 member countries. These countries include Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, the United. Conclusion: Arab countries account for about 6 % of the global population, and mental health disorders are the leading cause of disease burden in the region. Because of stigma in the region, mental health as a right is frequently overshadowed, increasing the likelihood of human rights violations. The World Health Organization's Mental Health Action Plan advocates for the creation of effective mental health policies, plans, and legislation.
