AbstractThis study explored human rights for Qatari women with disabilities, challenges and means of empowerment as perceived by females and males both with and without disabilities. The Questionnaire of the Rights of Women with Disabilities (QRWD) was developed using the Articles of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Results indicated that participants without disabilities, especially men, less acknowledged the rights of women with disabilities. Furthermore, women with disabilities did not emphasize civil and political rights, but highly addressed the obstacles related to the society and legislative and political empowerment. Findings were discussed in the light of the previous literature and further recommendations were provided.
