    Abstract
In this article, we investigated the optical properties and colloidal distribution of the PCPDTBT and VOPcPhO in the organic amalgam thin films prepared by spin-coating technique. A very even dispersion of donor and acceptor domains in the binary blend has been obtained. The thin films were characterized using atomic force microscopy, UV–Vis optical absorption spectra, photo luminescence, and Raman spectral measurements. The combination of these two materials stretched the absorption spectra over the whole visible region (400–800 nm). Optical and structural properties of the proposed combination argue its potential in organic optoelectronics applications.
